Pros

The people who were on my teams (I was a CSA at first and then I was promoted to a team in the Research group up in Woodside) - I liked them a lot..they were literally the good part of my experience and keeping in touch with them has helped the lone part of my experience there remain positive. I met some great people at Fisher that I all felt should be working somewhere better..my managers were nice as well.. my first manager had been at it for a while so she had experience, 2nd transferred in from a whole other dept and had none, the third one in research did have experience so that was good.

Cons

-You're a cog in the machine. I understand this is the case at many other firms, but still a con so it's here. -You don't receive any transferrable skills.. you are easily replaceable. I was lucky that after I stopped working there I was able to find an amazing position elsewhere, but it still took me a bit of time because I felt like I was kind of entry-level! You need a position where you actually learn industry skills..this firm offers none for you to learn except maybe.. client services, which is not really a "skill" persay. -You are simply not appreciated - the hours are horrible. The vacation/PTO structure is unfair because you take PTO for everything.. no sick days, personal days, etc. Horrible. -Did I mention that seriously.. no one cares whether you're working long crazy hours or are not doing well. I would talk to my managers and none of it was helpful.. if I was dealing with something, I expect support from my firm.. but honestly, don't expect that care or concern here. -Politics are horrendous. If you kiss up, you'll be loved here. Everyone thinks they are so awesome, when in reality they only stay at this firm because they're afraid of going somewhere else where their "skills" won't be recognized. It's sad. -General unhappiness of almost every co-worker. Do I need to say more? Talk about low morale. Also, during the recent huge round of layoffs, some of my former co-workers who were the BEST got laid off. I don't know how they keep some crappy people and seem to layoff the best. Again, poor management and decision making.

Pros

fisher is an awesome company. It is competitive especially on the sales side but if you are willing to put in the work, the compensation can be rewarding

Cons

There is a lack of public transit to the bay area locations which can be difficult if you are commuting from the city
