Pros

If you are a young female (preferably white) then you'll have an easy getting a job here. Don't believe me? Stand outside during a job fair, and take a look at the applicants. Then look at the people you see at the grand opening. The second best thing about this job is walking out.

Cons

They acknowledge that people only last 6 months on average. They'll use your enthusiasm and energy when you first start out. When you get burned out, they'll replace you. Since the training is minimal, there's no real loss to the company. If you start as management, you'll get maybe 2 weeks of haphazard training. Company outlook is good since they don't keep around people who are burned out. If you have "bad hires" you will most likely get replaced. "Bad hires" are hiring males, minorities, or middle age individuals. How many do you actually see there? Still don't believe me? Just walk into any of these glorified dollar store and you'll see.

Pros

- Growth is not impossible here, many people are internally promoted and gain management experience through Five Below. - Not extremely strict, and allows for diversity and self expression. Truly equal opportunity for queer/trans/POC/neurodivergent people.

Cons

- Low pay in every position. No incentives anymore for ASMs/leads. Extra hours put in make SM salaries not worth it. -Tenure does not equal pay. Personally have years invested into the company but get paid less. - Low amount of hours to distribute, managers are often cashiers. - SMs largely overworked trying to do every job, whether it be due to low hours or poor performance from CEMs/MMs. Salaried so no extra pay. - SMs no work life balance, since you don't get to clock out at 40 hours. - Unrealistic corporate expectations in regard to customers and policies. - Large amounts of change with unreasonably short notice. - DMs and higher often do not have your back. - Insurance offered is horrible.

Pros

Guaranteed 36 hours a week for full-time management. You will not be allowed to reach 40 to make sure you can't go into overtime. Full-time benifits... Management makes a livable wage

Cons

Almost 100% turnover, can't keep employees with toxic working conditions. The manager had to replace experienced management more than 3 times because they quit. Management is scheduled alone in a big store leaving employees open to danger. An associate was assaulted while working alone and the company said nothing. Extremely toxic upper management, Dms are hostile. No work life balance. I was called into work after open hours multiple times because of untrained employees being scheduled. Male employees will make a higher salary than female employees. Because of this, the company has released a new policy that prohibits sharing your hourly wage with other employees. There is NO TRAINING. You have to be perfect from day one.
