Pros

The products, the prices, the vacation and medical coverage (for full time employees). Individual stores have the ability to "tweak" visual presentations based on store stock. Atmosphere is fun and upbeat, employee discount is generous. It is a great "transition" job - pretty good to hold you over until you find one that pays a bit more with less aggravation. Part-time is a great high school or first job for teens.

Cons

Stock to support advertising does not always arrive on time. Of course payroll budget is much too tight to be able to run the store properly. Managers and Assistant Managers are very clique-y and if you are not "in", you can't wait to get OUT!!! Too many customers are THIEVES and not enough staff to prevent the HUNDREDS of $$'s of shoplifting PER DAY!!! GM's are berated and punished for inventory issues ... some, such as pallets of product which never make it to the store from the DC, which are completely out of their control.

Pros

Fast paced, enjoyed working with young enthusiastic staff, casual dress. Potentially a fun work environment, decent employee discount on affordable goods.

Cons

The manager at the location I worked was much more concerned with his own upward mobility than he was with customer service. Employee turn over was rapid, I was hired as a key holder and was told that staff rarely lasted past 90 days. Only one member on staff had been there a year. There were only three women on staff and there was a climate of disrespect bordering on misogyny. I overheard two members of management making inappropriate remarks and when they realized I was listening they apologized profusely but sadly this was business as usual. Management was more concerned with whether the T-shirts were folded perfectly than if staff was well trained in customer service. Customers complained constantly that lines were too long because of inadequate staff coverage.

Pros

It is a job until you find something better with a more respectful company.

Cons

Seriously, to many to list. This company will not make it in the long run as their business "values" are so poor that it will catch up to them. Company is cheap and disloyal. Unrealistic expectations for payroll hours allotted. Very PHYSICAL work. Essentially overpaid stock/freight handler. A big bonus is $25 lunch divided among 20+ employees. You get CRUMBS but are suppose to be grateful. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!
