Pros

Benefits include 401K, health insurance, life insurance, vacation time, etc. Vacations can be as long as you wish (within reason and with consideration for the rest of the team). If your management team is upbeat and positive it can be a fun work environment. Can be personally fulfilling when working with the children who come in or the special needs community who frequently shop at Five Below.

Cons

Unlike other retail stores that have "floor sets" biweekly/monthly, Five Below has what they call market plan - these merchandise moves come out once a week and are expected to be finished each week. In addition to this, you'll STILL have weekly/biweekly "resets/refreshes" to complete for sections of the store on top of this. Depending on the mgmt team's time management and store volume, this leads to high stress situations in trying to meet deadlines and all the other needs of the store.

Pros

The teams in the store. Good people that really try and work hard for very little! DO BETTER FIVE BELOW CEO AND CORPORATE!!!!

Cons

Unrealistic expectations. Hire new cashier with no extra hours to train!! How?!??? Hire managers with one week of training. Why?!??? This is why the comoany will never succeed, no investment in their stores. CORPORATE NEEDS TO REMEMBER THE STORE ASSOCIATES ARE THE LIFE OF THE COMPANY!!!!! There is literally no payroll. Do not expect to get a lunch break as there is only one cashier and one manager all the time. How is that safe?!?!? Leaving people alone in very unsafe conditions. And do not even get me started on “corporate visits”. The dog and pony show!!! Walking a store with someone who has literally no clue what the store is like day in and day out. Please…get…a…reality…check…!!!!! Instead of paying your CEO’s $100,000 cash payments to stay with the company (read the news/google it) how about paying your managers more than $15.50 an hour or maybe giving a care about your employees. Just a sad, sad, despicable company that abuses their employees by over-working snd under-supporting them and burns out their management team by ineffective business choices. Five Below corporate needs to step away from their fancy offices and corporate buildings and see what the stores go through on a daily basis. SHAMEFUL
