      Pros

      Good Pay, Decent work/life balance, opportunities available if you assert yourself and become your own advocate. Interesting/high profile project types

      Cons

      Limited project types (S&T/lab buildings). Weak management, poor communication at times. Smaller offices get isolated from headquarters (Madison)

      Interesting, technical work with an intelligent team

      Pros

      Flad SF has a good mix of technical work and fun design projects. If you like both, or want to explore both, its a great place to be. The people are incredibly smart with a wide range of experience. The company focuses mainly on science and technology, which brings to light many of the technical aspects of architecture. In the last few years there has been a stronger focus on design and I feel that they were making great progress in that direction. I learned a lot in my position and felt that I grew exponentially professionally.

      Cons

      Old habits die hard, and the leadership [although great people] would fall back on tradition rather than forward thinking. This was shifting while I was there and I'm sure growth has happened in this area.
