Pros

Over the 22 years that I've worked here, the management has always been very supportive and caring which allowed me to grow in the company. My current boss is the CEO who is a wonderful man and who cares deeply about the company and the employees here. His vision for the future of the company is exciting and you can't help but feel his passion. Depending on the financial success of the company from one year to the next, Flatirons shares its successes with the employees, giving nice bonuses or pay increases when it's financially feasible. The medical and 401K benefits are great. Flatirons offers programs to help us stay fit and healthy that are fun to participate in. Each office also comes together and does outreach activities that serve our local communities, which is also a great team building experience. I am proud to say I work at Flatirons.

Cons

In the past, the company was growing so fast that, for a period of time, there was a lack of clear direction from the top. This has been course corrected under the new CEO.

I am feeling the vision

Pros

New CEO is transparent and inspirational. Dog friendly office. People really care about each other.

Cons

We have had some rocky roads, but I am believing in the future. Keep up with the communication. It is so important and makes such a difference. We were not strong in that before.

Thank you for providing us with your feedback. We recently had our first all hands with our new CEO JD Sillion. After the all hands the feedback from employees was unanimous – the vision of Flatirons is definitely becoming much clearer! We are all feeling the vision. JD is working hard along with his leadership to provide our employees with transparent and open communication, and you are right it is making a difference.

An Arrogant and Disfunctional Company!

Pros

It's in Boulder - but there are plenty of other great companies in the area that can provide you the work-life balance that we all strive for!

Cons

- A group that excludes, alienates and overlooks! - Arrogant Leadership and Ambiguous Direction - Customers that have rated them very poorly on performance and service surveys (2017) - Completely avoid their own Human Resources mantras - "Challenge Status Quo", "Think Outside the Box" - it's canned and rubbish! - Leadership is constantly changing directions; at first I thought this was on purpose due to many acquisitions, but finally realized that they really don't know what to do and are stuck in analysis paralysis - Too many opinions and "cooks in the kitchen" -No structured annual or quarterly performance reviews; no feedback whatsoever!

Thank you for your feedback. We are listening, and we understand that working at Flatirons can be difficult. The last couple of years have been challenging ones for Flatirons due to organizational and market changes. As a result, we have had to make some very difficult decisions. We are evolving our vision, our culture and tightening our focus on customers and employees , ensuring that we put teammates and customers at the forefront of our efforts. We are also working harder on internal communication to address what you felt was an exclusionary or unstructured approach. You specifically mentioned not receiving feedback. This is unfortunate, and not acceptable. In 2017 we rolled out a an improved formal performance review process cycle. As we continue to review and look for ways to improve, one of our primary initiatives for 2018 and beyond is to provide more timely, regular feedback to all of our employees. Thank you for your contributions to Flatirons, we wish the best for you in your next endeavors!
