Pros

-Great team members willing to work together to solve problems -There was room to iterate & grow as an individual, prior to new executive team -Equity options (good luck being there long enough to vest!) -They advertise good health benefits, if you don't happen to get laid off before using them

Cons

-Infiltration of cutthroat culture -New people paying for the lack of execution by original & long-gone staff members -Enormous layoffs because of management's need to go public asap -Spontaneous and sporadic strategy changes has led to confusion at all levels -Ryan has lost his way

Product Designer Interview - Don't waste the time!

Pros

The business model is exciting, however the culture sucks.

Cons

I interviewed with Flexport for the senior product designer role this September, the process moved really fast (like 2-3 weeks). However, they brought me to a take-home design challenge, I was super surprised for company still doing this, which is a big time investment. I did that and went to the virtual onsite interview. Everyone spoke highly of my projects and the design challenge, and they said they are really impressed by the way I'm tackling problems. However I received the rejection the next day without any reason. I doubt they are doing design challenge only for free ideas!!!! Please don't waste your time for this company.

Pros

Techy "look good" benefits- dog friendly (kind of), food on stock, beer in fridge

Cons

They hired really smart people that don't know freight. Then they hired people with actual experience but put them in junior roles with no option for movement until 12 months. Processes don't get fixed, everyone gets to work 14 hour days. No support from management. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU HAVE AN ACCENT > THEY WILL NOT PROMOTE YOU EVER.
