Pros
Large University with many academic/administrative departments and organizations; work-study opportunities available for qualifying students; University scholarships automatically awarded to students with high-academic achievements; abundant scholarships/student project funding available to students upon application. Whether living on or off campus, embraced in "college" atmosphere and experience. Work/study/life balance manageable; tuition extremely affordable (Florida Bright Futures program qualifies almost all residents 50-100% tuition discount). Large, but contained campus with stunning brick landscape. Vast selection of coursework and extra-curricular opportunities available for every student. Infectious school spirit!
Cons
Large university can be overwhelming; easy to get lost in large student body. More specifically, only basic academic advising/related services provided for general student body (lack individual attention available at smaller institution). The advising departments for individual majors (especially larger majors--e.g. Biology, English) exhibit very low level of inter-departmental communication; student must be own resource/department liaison. Many amazing professors willing to mentor individual students; however, generally must excel academically or otherwise to form relationship with professor (and FSU student body is a very large crowd to stand out from).
