      Salary - Better beginning than any other districts in Florida Location - Work from home Schedule - Flexible

      Cons

      Class size - Anywhere from 150-250 students Schedule - need to be very flexible and willing to work with students schedules

      tougher than I expected but a great first year

      Pros

      My focus is on communicating with students, families, and colleagues about student learning, not about bell schedule or discipline issues. I can work with students one-to-one and not be ruled by the time on the clock or the day on the calendar.

      Cons

      It took me almost a year to feel like I found my "comfort zone" in terms of balancing my work life and my home life. I thought I would "get" things faster, but the acclimation was a steeper learning curve than I expected.

      Best teaching experience of my life

      Pros

      -You get to know the students very well (probably better than I did in the traditional classroom) -Teaching lessons in my virtual office is fun and gives me my "teacher high" (and we don't have to worry about policing dress code, chewing gum, or soda spills)

      Cons

      -Always on call (but that is part of being a great FLVS teacher. I can talk to students while also watching my son's soccer practice, grocery shopping, or getting my daily Starbucks)
