If you are looking make more than minimum wage- this is not the place to work. Charlottesville Location
Pros
Friendly management, clean modern showroom and Saturday lunches.
Cons
Micromanaging, good luck making more than a minimum commission due to the FPP (fair purchase price) the company uses to sell vehicles- basically giving cars away. When you sell a $82k vehicle and receive a $200 commission before taxes (gross) making an actual paycheck becomes impossible. Too many sales people in a small boutique niche dealership since they are somewhat of a revolving door of salesman to be able to actually earn a living. Managers lack the motivation and drive to really do anything since they get paid in gross, as most do and since the FPP comes into play, there IS NO GROSS at the end of the transaction to be paid anything more than a minimum commission. Managers also act like they are busy even though there is never much going on, and somewhat very comfortable in their position so they do not, and are not, required to preform the usual duties managers have to complete like. Things like generating new business and helping to increase sales as typical managers usually do. Pretty much sitting back and counting the minutes until their shift is over since upper management like to have 5 meetings a day and spend the bulk of the time discussing god knows what with each other. There is also a CRC, which is basically a call center that handles all inbound calls/internet customers so salesman sit back and watch the door to try and have something to do.
