The work life balance is nearly non-existent and the management in the office can be very Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde. There does not seem to be much continuity or planning taking place and it's very reactive as opposed to pro-active.

With the global reach, you have to be mobile to have any hope of security. If you have a family, this can be difficult because you will either have to relocate them (sometimes assistance is provided, depending on your level) or work away from your family. Though there are often jobs posted on the internal brass ring, these jobs are generally already prepared for a particular person. Your work does not stand on it's own. Promotions only come from who you know. Once you have entered this company, there is very little opportunity for a raise. You may get a new title, but do not expect the compensation to match.
