      My experience was fine for a while but Food Lion is trying to find itself and their niche in the grocery industry.

      Fair Pay Better than average Benefit Package customers great loyal and dedicated associates A vast number of tenured associates Overall a great group of team players amongst the store leadership team

      It;s an unstable enviornment to work in because Food Lion is trying to find their niche in the grocery business and investing it's future in their Bottom Dollar concept/

      Pros

      People are wonderful - feels like a family. Companies recruit you bc they know food lion corp employees work hard. Great work life balance.

      Cons

      Very few upper level jobs available. No room for career advancement. The company puts zero focus on growing their employees and training. You will do the job of at least two to three people.

      Pros

      As a cashier you get to know the weekly sales and good deals on food. The job was relatively flexible and extra hours were often available.

      Cons

      The management was poor and employees were not recognized for their hard work. Customers were often unpleasant, and the overall atmosphere was not good. There's a high turnover rate, so new employees needed to be trained every few months.
