Pros

-Good for first time laboratory work experience in microbiology -Get to learn/sharpen up on pipetting, plating, and dilution techniques as well as learn LIMS system -flexible hours, paid holidays off

Cons

-Low pay (around $11/hr) -some co-workers can be jerks -Not much incentive to work your way up through different departments as they get paid similar wages -"Employee Awards" are a joke! (employee of the month is given a $25 target gift card and treated to lunch plus convenient parking spot. After 5 years of service get a plaque and $1,000 net; 10 years and get a plaque and $2,000 net! are you kidding me?) -Overtime is normal in main lab, which can be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective -Company has a high turn-over rate of employees, which is never a good sign! -Main lab is almost always understaffed, increasing the workload for those there
