Pros

Pay fairness/transparency is huge for us. It appears the new PHX lab manager has fought for higher pay (as previous lab managers did) and this time, despite corporate’s resistance, made some small (but significant) gain in getting us a living wage. The *managers* at FSNS PHX actually care about the technicians. It’s a good place to learn if you really tried in college laboratories.

Cons

Please increase our pay a little bit more in proportion to general inflation. You did raise AZ pay in proportion to *housing* inflation & that’s great! Yes, Eurofins pays their techs similarly, but are they also desperately hiring rn & do they also have to account for our constant turnover? CONSTANT. IT GETS REAL DIFFICULT. Other than better pay we simply want more events, honestly. Currently: pandemic-friendly. Post-pandemic: We are young & very accepting.) Do not email “today is the day that Jesus was born” to a myriad of aspiring scientists on Christmas Day. That’s not the biggest problem but it’s a start.

Pros

As a recent grad, you will gain a lot of experience in the lab by working here. I enjoy the lab so this is perfect for me to master the techniques for food testing. I know that my experience here will help me grow in the near future. I've seen a few of my colleagues get promoted recently so I look forward to my growth as well.

Cons

It gets really busy here. Not much time to talk to my peers. Just gotta work and take care of the customers. Not much different than any other food job I've had in the past during school.

Pros

Experience, it’s a good place to start if you’re trying to decide what career path you want to take.

Cons

Training is all over the place. Management is nonexistent. Doing a lot of work for subpar pay. Would not recommend for a person with a bachelor’s degree to work here for poor salary,

Your feedback is very important. Our employees and our customers are at the center of all we do. At FSNS, we work hard to create a culture where our employees are happy, engaged, valued and appreciated. We continue to look at total compensation and adjust accordingly. I hope you consider talking with your LM or Regional in the near future to discuss your concerns or you may contact me directly. Thank you. Bob Cox, SVP HR.
