Pros

Flexible scheduling for part-time, Ok job for college students.

Cons

Very poor communications from leads to workers. Leads have no clue how to keep employ morale up and say good job when it is needed. Leads think they are better because of their position, Typical of someone that has been taught nothing about leading or managing people. Very poor wages are demoralizing.

Pros

Foot Locker is a retail industry leader. The experience and professional growth is very positive; senior management fosters an excellent work culture - recognizing hardwork and innovative ideas. The company tends to recruit college graduates with business degrees matched with starting competitive wages.

Cons

Beginning salary is competitive, however annual merit increases are poor if at all present. The company is extremely cost conscious - a positive component for employment stability although this translates to meager raises after years of employee service.

Pros

Super flexible around my school schedule, and a fun environment to work in. Of course, it all depends on your store and district manager. We were like a family - we challenged each other, (almost) always exceeded our sales goals, had alot of fun, and it showed to our customers. If you like sports and athletics, are looking for something fast paced, this is a good place to start. Pay was average to above average. Started at minimum wage, but we made commissions on top of that, which is a good incentive and really added up.

Cons

It's retail. So you get the crabby customers, holiday and weekend hours, and well, it's retail. If there are opportunities for advancement, they are not made very visible to Associate-level employees. Turnover at the store and district management level is low, so it's difficult to move up, and it takes quite a while. I personally know of some employees who were stuck in the "management-in-training" positions for multiple years, but it also depends on the region. I probably would have stuck with the company longer if opportunities for advancement and additional training were made available.
