Pros

Some good people still hanging on. Barely.

Cons

Below market pay, CEO with a hyperinflated view of himself, upper management is intent on becoming a "1 billion dollar company", which apparently means hiring a zillion salespeople, while skimping on engineering talent. What are you going to sell if you aren't building anything? Management is intently focused on hiring in cheap locales like Ireland and India, and not very interested in attracting or retaining US talent. Benefits are below par. CEO forced the entire company to make marketing videos showing their "internalization" of the company's marketing material. Those who balked were threatened with being fired (which he actually stated in a company meeting, so there was no doubt as to the consequences for non-compliance). HR let him get away with this, which tells you everything you need to know about them.

Pros

A decent work environment with a few good people, although fewer all the time. A few front-line managers that actually care but are limited by the whims of upper management.

Cons

The main strategy of the company appears to be, "let's hire Yet Another Chief-Something-Or-Other Officer and see what they think." Lately it's been "let's move our expensive American development to Ireland and India and save a few bucks." Product quality is way down the list of priorities. I wouldn't be surprised to see the private equity owner break up and sell the company for parts.

Pros

Like everyone has said, the people are great. Everyone really seems to be wanting to make it work. Too bad once you get out of the trenches that stops.

Cons

Total disconnect in the flow of the company. Goals keep changing. Mid-Lower management is always just doing what they can to keep the upper level happy. No support for the actual people doing the work. It is a constant "You are just are not working hard enough" mentally. Seen plenty of smart people come through and burn out very quickly. New people coming in getting large starting pay while existing employees have gone without raises.
