Leadership out of touch

Pros

There are some really awesome people. Generally respectful of work-life balance. There is a lot of enthusiasm for the technology around. Colleagues are often very supportive.

Cons

With increasing pressure on the company to deliver, some disappointing things about the leadership are becoming obvious. The "bad cop" high pressure style management is backfiring as it leads to more chaos, confusion, and wasted time and money. Leadership is not truly value-aligned with a lot of the talent.

Pros

Form Energy is one of the most innovative, rewarding, and driven companies. The people are some of the smartest I have worked with, and they pride themselves on Diversity and Inclusion. This is reflected by the dynamic teams and seriously motivated employees. They have outstanding benefits, compensation, and the CEO is proven. Like every startup, the values can shift in the execution phase. This can be accompanied by a demanding work environment, but the Managers recognize this and ensure support wherever they can.

Cons

The culture at Form Energy has recently shifted. Accountability is key, but it is apparent that leadership has not provided Managers with support to succeed on certain teams. -Some performance reviews do not provide clear actionable items -Trust amongst other teams has deteriorated due to misinformation -Certain leaders treat employees with contempt rather than positive reinforcement These traits are apparent as several employees have recently separated from the company. Form will succeed, but needs to build a culture unique to themselves to define who they are in the next phase of their success.
