Pros
I will start by saying that Forrester has a 401k match (minimal), good vacation time(recently switched to “flexible” which many are concerned about though), a good maternity leave and in a good economy does what they can to promote from within and support development paths.
Cons
Unfortunately it has been very challenging the last few months at Forrester with the recent layoffs, the move to flexible PTO, move to hybrid work environment, and lack of promotions or merit increases. I also expect that with the layoffs and recent changes we will see more attrition which will result in an even more difficult work/life balance. Many of us will need to take on added responsibilities with no extra pay. I understand the reasoning behind these decisions so the company can stay afloat, but it does not make it any easier. Regarding hybrid work, many of us are unable to be productive in the office yet will still be responsible for getting things done. Also, not everyone is energized by seeing others in office, and it may result in exhaustion and burnout even more. In addition, we have heard a third of all employees are already homeworkers and therefore many teams will not be fully integrated. It’s also unfair that they will not be flexible for those who are under 45 miles away from the office.
