Pros

- Great place to gain a diverse range of experience on IT usage in different industries. Job varies greatly from day to day offering a huge amount of variety - Very motivated and intelligent co-workers - Generally very good atmosphere in London office - Nice office, great location in central London - Good work life balance, and allowed flexible work hours - Well recognized brand - Opportunities to work with great clients (most of whom are Global 500) - Regular company communication and updates - Very good pay package especially for a company of its size

Cons

- Very change averse (unless change is being dictated by exec management). Swimming against the stream will get you absolutely nowhere - Culture encouraged by Colony around competition for consulting work leads to constant turf wars and coverage area fiefdoms. Extreme arrogance from certain analysts is tolerated and seemingly even encouraged - A lot of internal meetings that lead to more internal meetings -- rarely accomplish anything and are often just a chance for people to winge at impotent middle management - Bonus structure was ridiculous - Lack of local management and thus control over career trajectory - Incredibly US centric

Pros

good people over all. opportunities to get into a lot of different projects and to grow skill sets. The company actually does love to hire from within - so that's a bonus for folks who want to climb.

Cons

we sometimes have a lack of direction. management decisions come out of nowhere, are poorly articulated, and are changed two or three times before they're implemented. And if they are implemented, dont think it's going to apply to everyone. A lot of better managers know how to get around all the crap. Roles are narrowly defined and don't' always match day to day expectations. Don't expect a reward for taking on added responsibilities.

Pros

excellent networking opportunities with clients great colleagues, besides the management team very interesting research and areas of expertise

Cons

if you're not in sales or in research, your work is not recognized by top management the company thinks it's global but it is still very American. Fellow colleagues here don't have any experience in operating in a global environment. Company should teach everyone methods on how to deal with European clients or Asian clients The bonus system is not a bonus system. It's 20% of your salary and even if you perform and the company doesn't , you don't get anything Opportunities for growth and career path don't exist, it's more based on networking A very individualistic company: analysts run their business, sales too but what if you're someone else
