Pros

Great benefits package and good vacation and development stipends

Cons

Impossible to get a promotion any way other than seniority and being political. Performance does not matter.

Foundant has always perceived itself and continues to aspire to be a merit-based organization where an employee’s abilities, accomplishments, and drive determines their path within the company. And we continue to look at the most effective way to assess skills within the team, how to promote, and how to offer new opportunities. It is apparent from your comments, you do not feel we are doing this effectively. Please take the time to discuss your feelings with your manager, HR, or any member of our executive team. We need to hear your feedback in order to address it and we need to know what “being political” means to you in order to understand how it has adversely affected your experience or your perception. At our current growth stage, there are certainly areas where we are weaker or may make mistakes. However, if we’re not aware of how you’re feeling, we can’t take steps to address the areas we may be falling short. If Foundant is a place you wish to continue to work, please help us make it a place that lives up to the merit-based organization we want it to be for all employees.

Pros

A few good people doing their best to create good software tools. Company attempts to foster philanthropy.

Cons

All talk, no action. Not customer or employee focused, just the bottom line.

While difficult to read, most criticisms provide information which can be used to make improvements. Unfortunately, that information is not apparent in your review. For instance, Outside magazine requires employee feedback in order to make the list determination each year – in 2018, our employees rated Foundant #23 out of the 50 Best Companies to Work. 2018 marks the fifth year Foundant has been named to that list, as well as the INC 5000 Fastest Growing Companies. It can be difficult to balance growth and culture – but we work hard to find a mix that works for our team. By offering flexible work schedules and remote work accommodations, unlimited vacation time, vacation reimbursement, personal and professional development opportunities, matched giving, and more, we strive to give our team members the tools to find the mix that works for them. Client renewal rates, Net Promoter Scores, and daily feedback responses from clients indicate their appreciation for our attention and how we serve them. Being a client-focused company is not only one of our founding principles, it’s a major factor in how we hire the talented individuals who join our team. Finally, Foundant has almost no turnover among our team with approximately one full time employee leaving voluntarily per year. With these details in mind, it’s difficult to understand how Foundant could be perceived as a company with its sole focus on the bottom line. However, what is apparent, is how you are obviously feeling. Based on your feedback, it’s time to meet with either your manager, HR, or any member of our executive team to discuss what is leading to your feelings. These are very important for us to hear and important for you, personally, to communicate. Going to work each day feeling as you are is harmful for you, your team, and for Foundant. If you do not feel you can or are unwilling to take this step, perhaps it is time for you to move on to a better matched organization.

Pros

It was a nice place to work.
