Dehumanizing Experience

Pros

Pay rate was competitive. Never short on hours.

Cons

The most dehumanizing company I ever worked for. I was written up for having to leave a shift to take my disabled child to a hospital. Management ignored employee feedback and requests. Sexual harassment by the chef was rampant and no one cared in HR until he was seen doing it by a customer. Employee reviews were always given one point under the threshold for a pay increase while my managers could offer no reason why I didn’t get a higher score or offer advice on what could have been done better.

Pros

Working with great people. Guests are nice for the most part. Neat travel perks.

Cons

The pay they give us doesn’t keep up with inflation or rent increases. About a year or two ago they increased parking rates but our pay stayed the same. Our department is the first and last the guests interact with and we work hard to make sure our clientele is satisfied. Our hotel has the highest rates in the whole city of Seattle but if you look at other hotels around the area they are paying their valets more. They expect us to give 5 star service for 3 star pay.
