Pros

Pros come from only the obvious -- from the international acknowledgement of the brand that gets you higher pay than other brands. However, my personal dilemmas at this property outdoes the value of the dollar

Cons

This is a personal 'story': At the time, I felt underemployed -- with an application for a front end position to only be hired for a steward's spot. I was working with much older immigrant co-workers who repeatedly asked me why I was working such a position with native-born English and a degree from a nationally ranked university (there are graduates from my university that have gone to work with Google, Amazon, etc. so it is not a bad quality school). ...I later meet an alum from my school who is going through the hotel's manager-in-training program. I wondered what our differences were that landed her that position versus me who didn't even make it to front end. Was it her explosive personality versus my more reserved, thoughtful demeanor? Were managers threatened I would move up and push them over the edge? Or did they belittle me and think I was less than because I spoke so mildly? Now, another revolution is happening -- another revolution of racial issues. You may think, "Ugh, " and I COMPLETELY understand. When I look back, however, 2 out of 3 new hires for management or higher up positions were whites. A co-worker who graduated from University of Michigan of the same race was working a much lower position than a new hired MIT from a 'lesser' school who was white. All-in-all, I hope this revolution reaches this brand and values introverted intelligence as much as extroverted personality. (I never reported these incidences due to my naivety, but I was sexually harassed by BOTH managers in the department within the FIRST WEEK of hire)
