Pros

-PTO -You learn alot about the Immigration process -Hybrid Schedule -Great Co workers

Cons

-Unsupportive Managers/Attorneys, even if you are struggling they are not very helpful when they say they will and never do help you, always saw the bad and never the good in peoples work really -Give to many cases to Case Workers which leads to burn out. Some cases are handed down to CW's and they are not sure what step the case is in. -High Turnover Rate (Some People do not even last a week) -Training was not great -Pay is not great -Lots of Disorganization -Clients are hard to work with sometimes

Pros

I really do like working for Fragomen, and I think it's a great way to build your knowledge of immigration as a beginner. I feel like I've met some really great attorneys and caseworkers who have all encouraged and helped me to grow along the way. This really strengthened my knowledge of immigration and helped me to build my confidence as a caseworker. I started off with a pretty low salary in my 1st year, but have steadily seen an increase each year and have no doubt that they'll continue to compensate their employees so that is VERY refreshing.

Cons

Unfortunately, they have a tendency to overwork and overwhelm their employees with tons of case work and it almost seems as though there's no end in sight. I worked for a small team that saw an entire team leave in the span of 2 months. During that time, no new case workers were hired and it was left to a small team to manage an entire account. At that point, even some of the more senior case workers also left and these were people who had been there for 5-7 years. A manager left for 4 months and never said anything to their direct reports, we were left to confirm it via their WebEx status and later a new manager came onboard and there was no communication of what happened. It was honestly hurtful to say the least. The last con about the job is that I feel like there's no real room for growth. After you've been case worker for 3 or 4 years, what's next for your career? A manager? A supervisor? For the most part it seems like people are siloed into either NIV or IV case work and further siloed into dealing with just H-1Bs or TNs or PERM or AOS. I don't really feel like there's real growth to further round your knowledge and make you a varied case worker. This can be a problem both in terms of employee skills, but the bureaucracy that comes with it.
