Pros

You’ll work with great attorneys and usually great teammates, and there are some fun office outings. Management and leadership were always really great and supportive as well.

Cons

Work-life balance is almost non-existent. Paralegals are all overworked and it can be a very stressful place. A lot of the clients are rude, and it is soul sucking to have to deal with them sometimes. The pay is a bit low for the industry. We were not taught much about immigration law, and it felt like we were just part of a visa assembly line.

Pros

You learn a lot about immigration laws. helpful teammates

Cons

1. Poor management - my manager does not help with my concerns or questions. They're often "too busy" to open emails or pings sent to them. They will reach out if there is an issue but if you need them, they are nowhere to be found. They also do not know how to boost team morale or care enough for it. 2. NO work-life balance/long hours - be expected to work 55-60 hours per week once your caseload is up and running. The firm under-hires staff to take care of the cases so they overwhelm you with 100+ cases. A lot of times the cases you take over are from other BIAs so it is a mess. 3. Low pay - $47,000 as a base pay with a $400 end-of-year bonus. They will send you Fragomen swag occasionally, but I'd much rather get a monetary bonus. 4. Poor training - the firm boasts their training program but in reality, almost everyone is undertrained and you just need to ask the right person for the right advice. You have to deal with sensitive/anxious foreign nationals on your own with little to no advice. 5. No growth opportunities - it takes a long time to be promoted and even if you're promoted, you still do the same type of work
