Pros

A number of really good people work in the company, good opportunities for working in different types of work environments and internationally, salary and benefits are good.

Cons

No work-life balance in capital projects - all work and limited pay, promotions can be very difficult to obtain if you are not part of the "in crowd" or working for a manager that does not push for promotion, tend to hire in outsiders rather than promote from within.

Poor work life balance

Pros

Pay, vacation, insurance are all pretty nice. Many of my coworkers were awesome.

Cons

Since the acquisition of the Oil and Gas companies our training was reduced to zero from two classes per year. On call was way too frequent - with frequent callouts during the week. Work life balance was completely crazy. Department was never at full staff and suffered for it.
