Pros

Big company, some good mentors if you seek them out. Pay was good and company provides very cheap accommodation in Morenci

Cons

Poor safety culture, my manager wasn't very solid and as a result department lacked direction and morale was poor. Morenci isn't for everyone either, hard to believe company towns still exist in the 21st century!

Pros

“Culture guides discretionary behavior and it picks up where the employee handbook leaves off. Culture tells us how to respond to an unprecedented service request. It tells us whether to risk telling our bosses about our new ideas, and whether to surface or hide problems. Employees make hundreds of decisions on their own every day, and culture is our guide. Culture tells us what to do when the CEO isn’t in the room, which is of course most of the time.”

Cons

Some employers wait a really long time after the initial interview before getting in touch with you about next steps or a decision. This is extremely discourteous to candidates who generally have a lot riding on the outcome of a job interview. This can be an anxious and emotional period for many people. Leaving candidates hanging without a word for weeks after an interview is disrespectful. You can take a clue as to how a company treats their employees by how they treat their prospective employees.

Pros

Leading edge technology in terms of addressing security concerns, constantly upgrading hardware to (both literal and virtual) improve performance and security

Cons

The hectic workplace environment lends itself to mistakes being made in the effort to hurry up and just get it done without weighing the ramifications.
