Even though you won't be overworked, they aren't willing to make any arrangements for part-time work, which makes it hard if you don't believe in the traditional "40 hour workweek."
The culture seems a bit dated. The random spurts of team events are few and far between. If "dogs in the office" is enough culture for you, this won't be a problem.
From what I saw, the CEO only works directly with around 4 employees, even though there are almost 100 employees in the company. I only saw him in the office a few times a month at most.
There were times when I wasn't sure who to speak with about employment matters. There isn't an HR department.
The company almost never provides lunch. Coffee is provided, and there is an "employee contribution box" for milk by the espresso machine. Yes, there is a milk contribution box at a software company with almost 100 employees. Many of the other tech companies in Santa Cruz are generous when it comes to providing the greatest food for their employees.
