A sinking ship

Pros

The majority of the staff are true professionals in their fields and love what they do. Outside of senior leadership, the staff is very close and works together like a family. Lancaster is an up-and-coming city and the Fulton is right in the heart of town. The shows are truly top notch.

Cons

Senior leadership and the board are directionless and plagued with infighting. The organization has not had a true strategic plan in years, and staff are not involved in any sort of planning. Administrative and production team pay is below industry standards, yet the organization keeps spending upwards of $100k annually on gadgets and toys that get used in one show and then collect dust in the basement. Productions have started to use AI generated backdrops. All DEI programs and new works programs were ended, putting a number of annual grants in jeopardy. CEO pay is drastically higher than even other senior leadership salaries, and he finds ways to pay himself outside of base salary like directing shows or charging licensing fees to produce his own shows.
