      Lots of freedom, smart people, great resources, easy

      Cons

      Lack of direction, terrible pay, outdated business model, lack of direction from leadership.

      It's always important to share your thoughts, especially if you don't feel like your overall experience is a positive one. As you pointed out, Future's resources for staff are pretty great. One of those resources is a colleague-led set of tools for gaining direction and a growth path from within the company. It doesn't sound like you didn't have what you need on your team for growth, and also didn't take advantage of the growth tools to find the path best suited for your skillset.       Great company with a great vision

      Pros

      Great company with amazingly talented employees. Future has an outstanding vision of the space and what's on the horizon for years to come. Profit pool and unlimited vacation are just a few of the perks.

      Cons

      May be hard for some employees to move up, especially those in editorial-type roles, where turnover is few an far between. But Future does always look to promote from within if you're open to expanding in new areas.

Our People & Culture team is working hard to encourage vertical mobility in our US teams through tools similar to what is offered to our UK counterparts through the Apprenticeship Levy and more. And as you pointed out, we're always excited to hire from within when new opportunities arrive. But I can't stress this enough, if moving up is something you're excited about, be sure to bring it up regularly during your 121 sessions with your Direct Report! Make it clear you want to do more, and that information will make its way to those who can help.

      Fun job with really great people

      Pros

      I work for the division of Future called Future Labs, formerly known as Mobile Nations. We're new to the Future umbrella, but in my time with Future Labs/Mobile Nations, the team I've worked with is A++ across the board. Diverse backgrounds and philosophies but we all respect each other and put out great work. Working remotely is a plus too. Get your work done and there will be no problems.

      Cons

      I switched industries to work here and took a pay cut, so of course I wish I made a little more, but I'm optimistic that will work itself out. Other than a modest entry level income start, I don't have any cons.
