Pros

They make it sound like theres potential to make a change to the issues that are presented in the American Factory documentary, the only way to make people happy is to shut up and let others do the work. If you are white(or just not asian) and not talented, this is the place for you. You are only there to promote diversity, even though they may tell you otherwise. The Chinese will always be nice to your face, they will never tell you that you could be doing better or how to improve, as that is the culture. Truth be told you can get away with completely avoiding any type of work whatsoever, just gotta avoid staying in the same place for too long. If you can walk around and ignore pleading cries of help, this is the place for you - a free lunch. If you’re into Chinese work culture it could be interesting, although most of the Chinese working there are from Chinatowns across the US or are from working class China; the networking isn’t really anything to call home about.

Cons

Under no circumstances will they try to accomodate you, and they will not train you past their orientation training. Salary for a management in training position is extraordinarily low, started at 45k, was raised to 50k the first day, and max 2.5k bonus over the course of the entire year. Not enough to save what I wanted to for early retirement, even with extensive planning. They are not concerned with attracting talent, they just want a token white guy for the numbers. From someone with a competitive STEM background they don’t offer a competitive professional network, benefits, salary, savings plan, colleagues or a rise through the ranks program. My supervisor didn’t speak a word of english. I worked there for 8 months. I never got a raise although was bumped up throughout the program. I applied for 10+ pertinent positions within the company, was interviewed for one, and never heard back from any of the rest, through were in different departments and did not communicate with eachother. Plant manager is young and has risen to their level of incompetence, as the top-down management theory suggests. Realistically, automotive glass isn’t a emerging technology. So they have no reason to improve or really scrape the scum from the tank. I would totally work here if I truly wanted to be underpaid and ignored. People will think you’re some sort of criminal because of the company you work for.
