GAF would have been the best place to work for if it didn't have a bad office culture. If you work hard and try your best, that will never be enough. The people who talk to just talk are usually looked upon favorably. Some people also have a problem with looking down on others, this individual is not a manager but on the same level as I am and he continuously talks to me and others like we are below him. Since he is more of a talker, he is given credit usually for the work that we do as a team sometimes. Other members of the team and I did a lot of the work in the backend to get everything set up but once it came to presenting he seemed to want to take up everything on his own to put his face on it even though we had mentioned that we would have liked to present in some way. Eventually he was the only one given praise for this initiative once it concluded and all of our team sat next to each other and did not hear any of this praise. It just felt so unfair. The rest of the team felt as if he wasn't taking any of our suggestions into account either, and even passed some of our ideas as his own. Aside from that, he is always favored and given more opportunities and I am left with no response or hanging for a long time when I ask for more projects. I ask others around me for feedback if I'm doing anything wrong and it feels like no one wants to be honest with me. Is it because I'm not a man or what? Idk but all this favoritism, and this one co worker looking down on me is really killing my mental health here. If you're not about all that extra office politics then I would stay away from this company. I feel so miserable here
