      Pros

      -Extremely gratifying product -Lots of different problems and challenges -Job security

      Cons

      -Extremely ridged culture -Technical savy takes a back seat to inertia and circumstantial experience -Middle management is filled with unqualified 'go getters' interested in one big project and then flying off to their next job (I had three managers in 2 years) -Upper management has no vision -GE takes advantage of it's name and product to pay you 30% less than other companies -Health benefits are next to nill. People going without seeing proper medical attention for severe medical conditions is a popular and daily occurance.

      Pros

      - Excellent brand reputation - Good product; #1 engine manufacturer, lots to learn - Heavy investment in employees. Lots of opportunities to learn and grow it you pursue them - Competitive salary and benefits

      Cons

      - Heavy on brand name and corporate identity. They really push you to drink the proverbial GE kool-aid - Unions have corrupted the company. Management is afraid to deal with them, and their inflated wages, egos, and laziness are hurting production - If you're not in the top 10-15%, your career can stall easily. For motivated, driven individuals opportunities are a lot better

      Co-workers that are outstanding at what they do, high levels of integrity, great teaming environment

      Salaries completely out of check with the market Benefits completely out of check with the market Employee moral extremely low Very overworked teams Everything that can't be nailed down is sent to global engineering sites Leadership that refuses to recognize there are any issues or problems on the horizon Management approach is short-sighted - employees will start leaving as soon as opportunities begin to open
