Pros

- Great place to work for younger / less experienced people, good learning environment, people oriented managers - Good work life balance can be achieved -High level of integrity in work culture

Cons

- Minimal career coaching/mentoring - Very tactical oriented, not long term focussed middle layer - oriented in immediate role - Not a place for technology experts, as there are limitations to growth with expertise, internal leadership program graduates preferred to recruited experts

Pros

Big corporation with plenty of money depending on the group. Lots of new and interesting technology to work with. People there tend to be very driven and very intelligent.

Cons

Big corporation = lots of bureaucracy. This also means that top-level decisions sometimes escape the understanding of the people who have to implement them, which isn't good for morale or motivation.

Pros

Good compensation Flexible work schedule No issues with taking time off Stability

Cons

- Incompetent managers have no clue regarding the technology/products they are in charge of developing. Most isolate themselves in their offices when they should be reviewing or overseeing projects with their employees. - Old boys network is deeply entrenched and the guiding rule when it comes to project leadership/promotions. Talented employees are routinely bypassed in favor of old timers thus jeopardizing project deliverables and ridiculous excuses are given to justify the same. - Project priorities change at random and very frequently and no reasons are provided on why changes are taking place - Achieving training/EHS targets is more important that achieving project targets
