      I worked for GE for 10yrs. I learned a lot, met some wonderful people, but I was definitely paid lower than my worth.

      Pros

      Travel, learning, training and development, prople. I learned a lot be in definitely stayed too long.

      Cons

      Compensation. You can make a lot more doing the same thing somewhere else. Even with the new compensation plan, they are still below the market. Advise: Go get the "GE" for a few years, then get out!

      Pros

      Stable company. You get exposure to working with big time customers. You get to work on some exciting projects. Lots of vacation and time off with flexible schedule as long as you get stuff done.

      Cons

      The management doesn't understand how to develop software. They do not believe what development says when it comes to estimates. They also do not understand the roles and responsibilities of a software company. There's a new CEO every 6 months to 2 years.
