Pros

The only positive is that this company will throw a lot of money at you to make up for losing your mental sanity and never seeing your family.

Cons

The USA organization does not care about its employees, health and safety, machine quality, or even making sure the customers are happy. Just sell the machine and don’t ask any questions. Many employees get hurt every day because the company does not take safety seriously and will even discourage safety reporting to focus more efforts on sales. If you are not applying for a sales role you will be treated like garbage and looked at as a “cost” rather than a real person. There is ZERO work life balance and employees are forced to work many hours to make up for the “fixed headcount” restrictions for each department. Do yourself a huge favor and do not join GEA USA, you will regret it.

Do Not Work Here

Pros

Not that many good things to say about this job

Cons

They require you to work ridiculously long hours to meet tight deadlines that only get tighter with no overtime or bonus. Management enjoys taking out their anger at their staff, with ridicule and mockery as part of the standard office language. Their facility is disgusting, and at one point, there was a bacterial outbreak in their water system.

Pros

Friendly people. Has potential to being a world leader. Has some elexcelent products

Cons

It has been over 2 years since the company has started the reorganization. Seems to be getting worse not better. Management sits around and socializes and just waits for the changes from above. They just apologize to employees that things are bad, there is no ownership of any work anymore. Everyone points there fingers at each other's group. There is no quality control, procedures or anything. The individuals that take pride in there work are being burned out as they try to compensate for the issues to keep the customers happy. There is no succession planning, training, mentoring, or goal setting. They try to entice people with money to recomend people for jobs but if you want to keep im good graces with people in your network you don't. This could go on and on...but it isn't worth it as management does not listen to the employees.

GEA Group Response

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate all feedback. The restructuring requires merging of many systems and procedures. With this, it will take time to adjust to the changes. We believe the restructuring will make for a better future at GEA. We constantly work on establishing and improving our talent programs and development opportunities. For instance, there is a global talent identification process in place that includes succession planning. GEA promotes talent and executives by offering various development programs and training. We strongly recommend you to approach your local HR contact or consult our intranet to learn more about these offers and the respective contact person. Thank you again for the review.
