Thank you for your comments on our work environment and growth opportunities. Our clients provide us with rich opportunities to work on an interesting mix of projects in our five key markets: water, energy, buildings, infrastructure and industrial. We also have a wide range of talented senior level professionals with diverse backgrounds that junior and mid-level employees can learn from for their growth and development. We rely on employees at all levels to engage together actively and collaboratively and as a result, the opportunities at GEI are considerable. We’re glad to hear that you’re enjoying your time at GEI, thank you for your feedback and efforts.

Pros

Great people at all levels of the company - joining GEI is like joining a family and everyone is supportive of each other and has a great time together. Interesting projects - I have worked at GEI for almost 3 years and all projects are interesting and offer different layers of challenge and complexity. Prior to joining GEI, I didn't know companies like this really existed. Everything about the company is pro- people, culture, interview process, focus on diversity, interesting work, compensation, employee ownership, etc.

Cons

Location of current office is far from the local city. Commute is 45 mins-1hr.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on our culture, projects and total rewards package. We focus on cultivating a work environment where everyone treats each other as partners, in acknowledgement that we’re all important contributors working towards our client and our company’s collective success. In doing so, we enjoy working with each other in a flat organization where people are valued at all levels and roles. As a result, our clients reward us with interesting work that is engaging and challenging. We also evaluate our total rewards package annually to help ensure its market competitive and meets the needs of our employees. With regard to office location, we try to make balanced decisions considering many different factors. The greater Sacramento area is a sprawling region, geographically, and we chose a location that balanced many of our needs, acknowledging that we are about 13 miles, or 20 minutes (without traffic) from the heart of downtown Sacramento. Thank you for your contributions to our company’s success.

We’re glad to hear that you were able to gain valuable experience while working at GEI. As we grow, we have experienced some growing pains, but those growing pains mean that we’re successfully delivering even more services to our clients and are able to provide rewarding career opportunities to an ever-growing number of employees. As we continue to plan for our growth, we evaluate our priorities so that we continue to add value to our client’s projects. We just finalized our five-year strategic plan to help focus our efforts and successfully support growth. We’ve thoughtfully added leadership as we’ve grown and remain below the industry benchmark for overhead costs with a lean executive leadership team of only five professionals that each fulfill multiple roles. We wish you the best of luck in your future career endeavors and hope that even as you chose to leave GEI, you think favorably upon the time you spent with us.
