      Pros

      Finally, a company that gets it! GEI is a wonderful organization that truly values the importance of a positive culture. The offices are collaborative and people here are genuinely nice. The compensation is competitive and the benefits here are unbelievable. We have employee ownership opportunities, a GREAT paid leave policy, continued-education assistance and all the other standard benefits. From a technical perspective- projects are interesting, complex and impactful. We also have women represented in leadership, which is not common in the A/E/C industry.

      Pros

      I was exposed to a large variety of projects, and I was given meaningful work. The office had a strong community, and I got the impression that the company was invested in the well-being and professional development of its employees.

      Cons

      A large number of individuals in my office worked through their lunch break in order to get work done. From where I stood as an intern, it appeared as though most full time employees were putting in at least some overtime on a weekly basis.

      Pros

      Entrepreneurial culture, engaged professionals, employee-owned, well-run, knowledgeable and client-focused co-workers. Good balance of travel and home office work. Interesting projects. Great working relationships across geographies and fields. Company decision-makers are a well-balanced and diversified set of representatives.

      Cons

      it's a consulting firm - every now and then you have to work late to finish something. Depends on whether you like to travel as to whether that's a "con". Proposals are a necessary evil.
