Pros

Nobody is going to waste time trying to convince you to stay.

Cons

Pay is below average by skillset. Management at all levels has toxic attitude toward subordinate employees, which has led to high levels of turnover and loss of significant institutional knowledge. IT departments in particular are hurting, because employees recognize how management has been 'cleaning house'. Promotions clearly based on self-confidence, appearances, and enthusiasm, but not talent.

Pros

You can move sideways, up, down, it's all up to what you want from working at Geico. Most managers have an open door policy (or open communicator, or open email, whatever).

Cons

Since you can leave your team so easily, you have a lot of instability within teams. However, that makes working at Geico more organic, more evolved, than if you were stuck in the same place doing the same thing forever. You do have to wait a while to participate in profit sharing rather than getting matching 401k right out the door, but practically everyone that works here works for decades.
