Pros

Average age of folks working here is 28 or under; lots of fun people. If you stick it out over two years, you receive profit-sharing which is approximately 10% of your salary.

Cons

Geico is proud to be the low-cost provider and it sorely shows. Crushing volume of claims; lowest compensation in the industry, and turnover + morale in the Renton office are abysmal. Only consider this job if you are desperate.

Pros

- High salary - Executive bonus

Cons

Geico is a complete dumpster fire of a company. Ever since Todd Combs took there has been a constant turnover in executives and corporate priorities. The massive layoffs in 2022 and 2023 killed what was once a good culture. Those employees that remained are apprehensive of new leadership and will doing anything in their power to undermine any sort of transformation. I had a junior team member come into my office after one week to tell me how bad the culture is. Legacy processes and systems continue to stifle growth but the business cannot figure out a way forward as they keep changing leadership. During my tenure I saw multiple projects get started only to spend millions of dollars before killing them as another executive came into power. This has driven morale to a complete bottom; you could hear a pin drop at our Christmas party as no one trusts each other. The high salary is not worth the utter misery of working there. You will likely just get let go after a few months as your new executive will bring in their own team.

Pros

None, they left when TC took over

Cons

EVERYTHING. When I first started this company was so amazing. They really cared about employees and we had so much fun in the office and as a group. Once TC took over this company went downhill so fast. Pushing MOAT on every call no matter what, micromanaging while the micromanagers are being micromanaged etc. Amazing employees quit out of frustration because it became impossible to succeed. They gutted departments, just laid off thousands of workers to not have to pay out retirements, jobs being outsourced, angry customers, insane prices. Amazing profits at the expense of the customer and employees. Employees meeting/exceeding standards get raises WELL below inflation percentages but the C suite gets those fat millions in bonus payments on top of their already overpaid salary based on their performance. If employees are based on their performance, why isn't anyone judging the C suite for ruing this company. It is also funny when moving to the management side, they weren't told anything about changes or upcoming changes until the day they were implemented. Joke company now.
