Pros
So many great co workers. Great memories of when the company loved its employees, and when Tony Nicely ran the company Diversity (read below) Used to love coming in when it was happy and joyful
Cons
Corporate America at its worst. All of the pros stopped when Covid hit. All public knowledge: Since then, the company is run by outside hedge fund managers that have no business management, and no insurance background. It is not a "company" anymore, it is a fund designed to squeeze as much profit as possible, regardless of employees or even worse, CUSTOMERS! 10000 people gone in about a year and a half, yet they are hiring? Retiring here? Mmmmmm. You do not have personal goals, only metrics. Every six months your employment is up for review, and possible termination (Lots of terminations) if you do finish above the bottom 25%. Creates such a hostile enviornment compared to the everyone helping each other/family bassed approach. When those people are terminated, the pool becomes smaller. A 30 year career (they dont want you more than 5) would mean you'd have your employment up for review 60 times! Profit sharing gone, and the new health coverage is now awful. Ive already paid $2500 in medical bills in 4 months. Previously, would have been about $500. Offices are empty and are like ghost towns. There is zero joy here and everyone just complains. A substantial amount of employees actually want the company to fail. This would have been an insane thought prior to 2022. SEVERE mental health issues in employees No employees are referring anyone. No one would put a friend or family through this for $250-500 (used to be double). Not even for $5000, we love them. My refferal received a 12% raise, but was then laid off shortly after. (Salary too high). 80% of new training class quit within a week of hitting the floor. They learn the true intentions of the company when training is done and they hit the floor blindsided. 20 year agent that finished 50% received a 16 cent raise (I got a bigger raise 25 years ago as a cashier) Not one single sign of appreciation towards its employees, nothing. No emails, office events, thanks for 20 years, nothing. Just more and more firings, people quitting, and daily MAJOR job changes every single day. Company complains about not enough profit, yet CEO gets 4million dollar bonus on top of base salary of 10 million. Sorry, he didnt get a bonus THIS year, just his base $10,000,000 Micromanaging at its highest level. I am not allowed to use the bathroom unless im on break (great for pregnant women). Have to send your sup an explanation why a hard case took more than 20 minutes, furthur slowing you down. You are 100% treated like a number, they are dropping people in a heartbeat once they have no need for them (they will not transfer you to another department) Unless you are an AI centered engineer, there are zero opportunities for advancement. This is temp employment, they will force you out when A. They have no need for you or B. You did too good and received too much compensation. This is the worst since everything is based on the present. Ive seen peoples numbers go down due to sickness, loss of loved ones, failed marriages, and they were terminated because their salary was too high. Integrity removed as an operating principle, and then I guess added back, who cares at this point, since its obvious? Systems worse than 20 years ago, but developed "in house" to save money. Agents dealing with angry customers due to the actions of the company. Get their money and get them out. Changes involving your metrics, job function, compensation, schedule, can all change any day you walk in. AND THEN, change back a week later Do they really care about diversity? Is it just to get DEI money and distract employees?Of course it is. Its great to have people of all backgrounds, but look at the evidence. If you are a minority, do they really, really, care? I havent seen one black agent get promoted. They are using you. Look around, they dont care about your gender, race, orientation. WAKE UP, THEY JUST WANT GOOD PUBLICITY! People cry on the way to work, and in their cars on break Hunger games environment. Your friend is your enemy, and fighting you for your job. Agents no longer trust supervisors, supervisors no longer trust managers, so on and so forth. Supervisors have it bad because they have to constantly deliver bad news and then deal with angry agents (dont be a sup). Sups get no where, even when you find out that other agents are deliberately closing out work cases. Nothing happens to that person and they keep their job (meanwhile, that customer is in limbo until THEY contact us again. Manager works on the other side of the country, never even met him. Situation came up that we hadnt seen in years. Sup and Manager reached out to two higher ups that are in chage of procedures on what we should do, A or B? One said A, one said B. HR dept removed from all regions 4 months into the year, and they still cant figure out how to compute my numbers excluding vacation, sick days I could go on for hours. Point is: this company appears to be a sinking ship. Service has gone way down hill (not due to agents), any mentioned benefit at hiring can and most likely will be taken away or changed to a cost savings inferior product. If you work too hard and make too much money, its a guarantee they will try to force you out (they are doing it to me). You will be micromanaged including not being able to leave your workstation. You will see agents higher than you because they cheat, but then you may be let go for ACTUALLY helping the customer. They do not want tenured top talent agents, even if they say it. More profit in a revolving door of 5 year associates. Lastly, its like an abusive relationship where your partner mentally abuses you into believing you cannot do better. This is what you get if you raise any concern.
