Pros

Pay and benefits are decent (however not commensurate with expectations) and training is very thorough

Cons

Everything about your position and the company as a whole is built to break you. In all likelihood, you and your fellow classmates will not be working here after a year. The expectations and workload are ludicrous. You will not be given enough time to complete your work, but be expected to do so anyway. Management will continuously tell you “we hear you” to the numerous complaints you are bound to have, but do NOTHING to alleviate the issues. They are hemorrhaging employees and company turnover is close to 80% over a two year period. You are being hired on the basis that you statistically will not be around long enough to collect the actual benefits (profit sharing and 401k vesting) being offered for the position.

Pros

Geico knows how to bring an amazing group of people together, I have met the best of friends working here which will be lifelong friendships.

Cons

They make it extremely hard for you to work from home which is unfortunate being that there is still a pandemic going on The pay is not enough for the workload and stress Some supervisors do not have the patience to work with new employees Everything is on a 2 hour timeframe which makes completing your work and achieving your goals an unrealistic task Extremely strict on goals/numbers - YOU WILL be removed from the company if your overall metric rating is not a 3 or higher 3 months after training - just because you completed training doesn't mean your job is secure

Pros

Good Benefits and great co-workers

Cons

Low pay for the industry, they will overload you with claims, expect long hours; overtime is technically not allowed, so they expect you to just work 12 hour days on the down-low -just to keep your head above water. Metrics are ridiculously impossible to keep up with, which is intentional; that allows them to have a reason to fire anyone on the spot, especially close to profit sharing time. Everything is micromanaged, even breaks and heaven forbid you have to go to the restroom outside your scheduled break. Specific to the MDP program - no leadership training at all. You're really only there to fill in gaps in the call center and volunteer for projects throughout all the mayhem. They'll tell you a time frame for a specific department, then it always changes. The 2.5 year program is really closer to 4-5 years. When you call them out on this, they'll tell you "things change constantly". If you complain, you're called into a meeting where you're all told to put a smile on your face and just put up with the inconsistencies. You're half trained for a department, then thrown in with a team, and told "you're an MDP, be better than everyone else". And worst of all, there is NO consistency among sups or management. They set their own rules, and you never know what the rules and regulations are from one sup to the next.
