Great company to work for if you're cut out for warehouse work
Pros
It's an active job, thus, much better for your physical health. You're not stuck at a desk. While the process is technically repetitive, you are handling so many different products that it helps keep things somewhat interesting. The pay is decent, the attendance policy is forgiving, and the company occasionally provides meals and fun activities. Once in a blue moon they might even give you free stuff. One of the greatest things about Geodis though is their Pay For Performance (PFP) bonus system. You can earn a really good amount of extra pay for making the extra effort of producing efficient and accurate results. It's the only job I've had where there's a meaningful, direct and tangible reward for going the extra mile. I love it. If you want it and sincerely apply yourself, there are tons of opportunities for advancement, rapidly even, in this company. You typically get back what you put into working for Geodis.
Cons
If you don't like to move around, and do mild to moderate physical labor you will hate it. But honestly, it's not as bad as your brain fears it will be. Stick it out and you'll find that any sore muscles will quickly adjust and stop being a hurdle after the first 2-3 weeks. There is little to no climate control depending on your location. You have to learn to deal with working in extreme temperatures at certain times of the year. Your job satisfaction will be highly dependent on how lucky you get with what department you're assigned to, and who your Team Leads and supervisors are. There can be a high-school like atmosphere of social nonsense sometimes, but keep you head above it from the start and do your job, and your problems will be few. Unfortunately, it's not just the warehouse grunts that get sucked into childish dramas. Mandatory overtime can be called for with a minimum of 24 hrs notice. Definitely expect this during peak season. Prepare to work your butt off and have no life during peak season. You can make some serious bank though.
