Laid back environment. Lots of food days.

Cons

Nasty angry customers. Only some reps were given information needed to do jobs. Friends of managers stood and talked and did maybe 25 calls a day .

GFL Canada needs to assess and really look into the leadership in North America, especially in Raleigh. It is like working for two different companies. If you are not an original Waste Industries employee you have no chance. If you point out any deficiency or concern about a legacy Waste Industries employee there is a target on your back. We are constantly being told to ignore Canada's guidelines especially in my department. Good ol' boys and girls Waste Industries club!!

The starting salary and benefits are decent.

Cons

Work/life balance is non-existent. The management team at the local and regional levels has tremendous turnover, which has led to perpetual incompetence and general disorganization. Much of this is due to little/no training combined with very little HR support. All of these things combined has created a very toxic and unprofessional culture. Truck drivers, mechanics and aspiring managers can do MUCH better for their careers elsewhere!
