Pros

Working as a General Manager at GFL Environmental in VA has been a rewarding and motivating experience. From day one, I’ve been empowered to make decisions, lead a strong team, and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced, essential industry. What sets GFL apart is its commitment to safety, sustainability, and service. The company truly values its employees and provides the tools, support, and flexibility needed to succeed. I’ve seen firsthand how leadership listens, adapts, and invests in both people and infrastructure to ensure long-term growth and customer satisfaction. Our local team is hardworking, dedicated, and proud of the impact we make every day in the community. It’s a great place to build a career if you’re passionate about making a difference, leading with integrity, and being part of a company that’s shaping the future of environmental services. I’m proud to be part of GFL, and I look forward to what we’ll accomplish together.

Cons

Only wish I could have started my career in waste with them long ago.

Pros

I have worked at the largest competitors in the industry. GFL Environmental offers real room for growth and advancement. As a Maintenance Manager I’ve had the opportunity to contribute directly to shaping the company’s culture and operational direction. Leadership encourages feedback and innovation, making it a dynamic environment for professionals who want to make a difference.

Cons

As a rapidly growing company, GFL is still in the process of developing and standardizing many of its policies and procedures. While this is a natural part of growth, the rollout and implementation of new processes can sometimes lead to confusion or concern in the field.
