Pros

This firm has one of the best cultures as a professional service company. Management cares about professional development of individuals and is firm believer that people are the most distinct competitive advantage we have. Senior managers also seem to be the most down-to-earth group I have met compared to other companies. There is a reason GLG stands out on its own in its peer group. There are many who may have mismatched expectation of working at GLG, but in reality, this is a great place to learn and absorb as much as you can, especially from the access to key play-makers in industries, and bring the unique knowledge with you to wherever you go in your career.

Cons

GLG has put a lot of resources into building new businesses at a pace that could make it difficult to keep up with everything that is going on. You need to have the right connections within the company to get things done at times.

Pros

You will definitely learn tons of new stuff which are new and hot in investment field. Also you will get connected with a lot of professionals, industry experts, etc. Some executives are at really high level and very nice. That helps expand your personal connections a lot. A very good start for fresh graduate.

Cons

You really need to be very good at self-learning and self-motivated to learn some. The business contains a lot of practice in soft skills, e.g., communication, writing, cold call, interview experts etc.
