Pros
- You'll teach more than any instructor on tv or at any golf course in the world - You'll learn A LOT about the golf swing - You'll receive staff deals to use equipment each year from the major manufacturers - They'll help you attain a PGA membership - You can get promoted to manager after 2 years (if you're willing to move to another state) - 5 day work week (you will NOT have consecutive days off when hired for ATLEAST 1 year)
Cons
- You will teach up to 14, 30min golf lessons a day making $18/hr - commission is 6%-8%. It is VERY low for how much work you will be doing. - Coaches get burned out and usually quit somewhere between 1 and 5 years. They do not care. You will be replaced. And the students suffer by having multiple coaches. - You'll have to move far to accept a management position/almost 0 opportunity for advancement. - The big bonuses are NOT in your control to be hit and THAT is how you make the posted amount on the job listings. The metrics are set by corporate and they're pulled out of the air. Whatever they say you'll make, subtract 10k. - It takes a couple years just to earn 2 weeks of PTO - You will act as a coach, customer service representative, receptionist, and your own personal assistant.
