Pros

The mission is what drives everyone and it’s amazing to be a part of something as impactful as this.

Cons

There’s a lot of favoritism here. Only those employees that are friends with managers can get promoted. They state that you must be in your position for a certain amount of time before becoming eligible for a promo, however the favorites get promoted after a few months. The culture is very toxic - there’s a lot of tension and competition between team members and teams. It’s hard to get things done when you feel like you can’t collaborate with cross functions. High turn over - the company is growing quickly but there’s a revolving door of employees every month. PTO - the company line is “unlimited PTO” but that only applies to the favorite managers. Some managers take 10+ weeks off per year which would be amazing if it applied to ALL employees. As soon as you take 4+ weeks off, managers start to regulate PTO requests and claim it’s an optics issue if you “take too much time off”. People are burnt out and need their time off.

Pros

Amazing mission, driven people, challenging projects, supportive/diverse/inclusive culture. They treat their employees well. There's lots of flexibility. The people are welcoming, talented, and generous. There's a healthy, blameless attitude. And the managers and execs treat their employees like talent... and they listen. And the company is a rocket-ship - their product is game changing.

Cons

Not a lot, honestly. There's some tech debt. Code bases are somewhat siloed, but linked in ways that makes efficient development difficult - but they're working to improve this.

Pros

if you have a good boss who is effective at helping manage the ugly politics - then there can be a lot of growth opportunity and this can be a really great place t o be, so do your homework on your boss before you accept your job offer. no better mission. work feels high impact.

Cons

depends on the team, but overall not the place for you if you don't like frequent change tries to espouse certain values but in practice - these values are very inconsistently lived and sometimes feel hollow. tons of smart people working hard - but sadly much of it is misdirected or in competition with others rather than working together. not enough constructive debates and open dialog. too much unproductive infighting at all levels. need to get better at hiring mid and senior leaders who prioritize a cohesive company org that is structured logically. not just personal success or success only for their own people.
