Pros

GSK is a good place to work overall. The company today is struggling and the work environment is much more reflective of the struggle and the stresses that accompany it. The company was much different in the past. That being said, it is still a good place to work if you reside in NC. Old leadership has been eliminated and new leadership is trying to find its way.

Cons

The company spends far too much time on the little things. They live in constant fear of getting in trouble with the government and are afraid to take on any risk whatsoever. Virtually everything is questioned. They rank every employee by department and use a lot of subjectivity to arrive at those rankings. It creates competition between employees and, instead of trying to help one another as good teammates should, co-workers snicker knowing that at least one person will take the fall at bonus time. If I could change one thing, it would be the unfair treatment to employees.

Pros

Good if you want to get a lot of experience quickly, as people leave there is a lot of opportunity to take over projects with more responsibility.

Cons

A lot of uncertainty as the sites are moving and shifting focus. Morale went down when many good people could not make the move to Maryland and started quitting.

Pros

GSK used to be the best in the industry. Now they are at the bottom. I used to be so proud to work for them, but no more. They are using their ridiculous Patient First test scores to get force out long term successful sales reps to save money and then hire contract reps to replace them. They are no longer putting money into their pipeline, but instead are just buying the molecule from another company.

Cons

There is no respect for the field sales rep. GSK blames the rep for all of their woes and even though the rep works intensely with long hours to get the job done, there is still no respect. My manager lied constantly to make herself look good. She was late on anything administrative and was never there to help like managers in the past. She just didn't do her job. When the generic Advair comes in 2016 there will be severe layoffs. Their motto TRIP, Transparency, Respect, Integrity with a Patient Focus is a big joke and is no longer practiced here. You can't even breathe due to the stress and lies implemented by management.
