Pros

I've been with GSK for many years and I've been able to enjoy a great career through a variety of different roles in various business areas. Generally speaking, if you are a high performer you can take charge of your career progression.

Cons

Given recent downsizing, the number of roles at the director level are limited due to org chart compression. Having said that, I am not sure it is much different elsewhere in the pharma industry.

Good working environment Flexible working Great benefits, 2 shares schemes, good pension, maternity package Lots of opportunities to learn and develop

Cons

Salary is generally lower than national average, unless you keep changing roles and get pay rise every time Love restructuring, lots of management changes Can be a bit unfair to employees

Pros

great benefits. Wonderful people to work with. Good portfolio of medications. A large corporation that has significant footprint in healthcare.

Cons

patient first compensation program very cumbersome, and at times very difficult to manage. Became less nimble in marketplace due to multiple layers of decision makers
