Pros

Company values were solid, and the company responded to feedback from the field, which can be a very important quality in a company. I really had top notch managers who cared about their reps and treated them like the professionals they were. This then inspired myself and others to rise to put forth their very best. I learned a lot about leadership with my managers.

Cons

There were a lot of changes that occurred very quickly, and the impact to the representatives was that the changes were occurring at too fast a pace. Remarkably the company responded to feedback and worked to make the situation better.

Pros

GSK gives you exceptional training and the industry standard benefits. The company stresses patients are first in everything that they do.

Cons

GSK does not have good work- life balance. The compensation is not good. Compensation and performance are not based on how well you sell your products. Compensation and performance are based on mangers ratings, timed test that require you type in all of your answers and simulations that are done over the phone. GSK has made a VERY STRESSFULL environment for its field employees to work in. I know several employees in the field and not one is happy working for GSK.

Pros

Provided extremely valuable experience that is unattainable in any other environment. Allowed for guided personal development whilst also sufficient freedom was given to make it feel as if one was directly contributing towards a worthy goal.

Cons

Uncompetitive compensation compared to similar companies. It was often observed that the people in control of the cancellation or continuation of a project were somewhat disconnected and not fully up to date with all the significant details and results. Industrial placement students often felt mistreated and undervalued with poor consistency between supervisors.
